a new kind of made up

what is make up to you?
we wake up and put on some foundation, mascara, and eyeliner. maybe even a plain pink lip.
make up has evolved into something more then just simplicity. we can incorporate color into our everyday look. this isnt new but i would say its under appreciated.
last week i went to the super market wearing my usual skinny jean oversize tee cropped jacket and over the knee boots.
my hair was in a bun however i had on no foundation or eye liner. Just fuscha mascara and blush on my cheeks. simple right? however still eye catching and brings out the beauty in our skin. most women have amazing skin, why clump on globs of the same make up every day. keep it simple, by a good moisturizer to get an even skin tone. i use clinique everyday moisturizer for $19.
Sephora gives out daily free bees and offers a great array of makeup types and color. trade in you black eye liner for a brown or burgundy or purple.
no one is saying you need neon green on you eyes but choose a complementary color to your eye color. my eyes are brown so i love to buy purples and fuschias to accentuate my eye.
MAC has a great mascara limited edition makeup. I recently bought the wonder woman fuschia mascara for $15 and it works wonders for my eyes.

winter musts

Now that the weather has dropped so low that you haveta wear a jacket instead of layer
i thought i would bring out the fabulous winter musts
at the top of that list would be
1. A sturdy pair of fabulous boots to keep the snow out.
I recommend UGGS, they dont just make comfy boots for high school girls anymore
their Casdy boot (seen below) is warm and cute and will last a lifetime.
2. The circular scarf
this scarf has gained much deserved popularity over the past two years and is a convenient winter accessory for keeping your neck warm and adding a pop of color peeking out of your usually monotone winter jacket. i recommend buying one from american apparel which has a multitude of uses and a great length
3. Lastly on my brief list of winter musts in the long glove. remember those ballroom gloves you wore at your sweet 16 to look like cinderella?
well now they are back to keep your whole arm warm for the winter. my recommendation is forever 21 fingerless long gloves for 7.80. fingers free for texting and wrists warm.

happy shopping.

Designer Trends

This dress is from Dior Winter 2010 line. Dior has managed to bring the girly floral chiffons of spring to the winter by adding over the knee boots and tailor jackets.
This show featured the best of English 1800s style with a modern twist.
Personally I think chiffons and florals should stay in the spring
So if you want that tailored English look for less go to forever 21, they have great separates that make perfection if paired with the proper pieces.
normally you would see this and its kinda ugly. no hanger appeal, no nothing.
but if you pair this sleeveless shirt dress with lace tights, ankle booted oxfords a button up underneath and an oversized open front sweater over it with cute dark framed glasses you have the perfect english look with a modern twist and more weather appropriate i would say.
